By The HISD Teacher Recruitment and Selection Team will host the 2024-25 Critical Shortage Campus Hiring Event on Saturday June 29 from 9 a.m.-12 noon at Delmar Fieldhouse, located at 2020 Mangum Road.
This event will feature both NES and non-NES campuses. Certified teacher candidates with five years of experience in the following position types will be compensated as follows:
- Bilingual teacher salaries:
- Non-NES schools: $66,000
- NES schools: $81,000
- Special Education teacher salaries:
- Non-NES schools: $83,000;
- NES schools: $92,000
- Pre-Kindergarten teacher salaries:
- Non-NES Schools: $66,000
- NES Schools: $76,000

Recent hiring events
The last HISD career fair was held at Delmar Sport Complex June 22 to fill vacancies district-wide.
Over 500 candidates attended, and over 120 campus-based positions were filled, including 100 teachers for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.
More than 20% of these hires filled critical shortage areas such as Bilingual, SPED, and ESL positions.
