By Houston Independent School District is hiring for critical and other positions for educators and staff this summer for all schools including those selected for the New Education System.
HISD will have a total of 130 NES schools in the 2024-25 school year. HISD launched the NES at 28 historically underperforming campuses in the 2023-24 academic year.
Those schools designated as NES—which have significantly raised STAAR test scores—will also be given more support for teachers, and an innovative staffing model that puts the focus on classroom instruction and improved student outcomes.
Now Hiring
Campus hiring events will be held this summer for NES positions—which offers higher teacher salaries—$85,000 per year, with an additional $10,000 stipend, and other districtwide positions as well.
In addition to teachers, HISD is also looking to hire more teacher apprentices and learning coaches who are working on their teacher certification to handle non-instructional tasks.
All current teachers and staff at these campuses are required and highly encouraged to reapply, and high-quality educators and staff from outside the district are encouraged to apply.
