The Houston ISD board heard a report regarding the 2024 bond from the Community Advisory Committee and district officials June 27.
The presentation was given during a special called board meeting as the district continues to work through the bond proposal in preparation to place it on the upcoming November general election.
Co-Chairs of the committee Judith Cruz and Garnet Coleman were on hand to answer board questions regarding their recommendations.
“This initiative is long overdue,” Coleman said. “It’s imperative that the younger students get what they need.”
Coleman and Cruz said the district is going to have to be transparent in its plans if it is going to get buy-in from the community.
