Chief Academic Officer, Kristen Hole, presented the case for more Career and Technical Education centers to serve HISD high school CTE students with training in specific fields in high school are more likely to graduate and make higher annual incomes.
A proposed $1.07 billion of the bond would be spent to make HISD “future ready,” which includes expanding CTE into all district areas and upgrading technology.
The bond includes funds for “future-ready” learning environments, which will expand Wi-Fi and provide technology support necessary to increase CTE student opportunities and improve daily educational experiences.
