
Despite ongoing recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Houston ISD officials say robust turnout for the July 10 hiring event led to the hiring for positions districtwide.
With a turnout of over 580 candidates, HISD made over 155 offers for campus-based positions, including the selection of 115 teachers for the upcoming 2024-25 school year, according to HISD Executive Directorfor Talent Acquisition Steven Jackson.
The next hiring event is July 18 from noon–3 p.m. at Delmar Fieldhouse located at 2020 Mangum Road.
Campus principals will be on hand to interview teacher candidates to fill teacher positions for both NES and Non-NEW campuses before the start of the new school year, including bilingual, special education, ESL, and pre-K positions.
