By This past weekend brought intense matchups, high-scoring games, and a few nail-biting finishes as HISD varsity football teams faced off. Here’s a recap of the highlights and standout performances from Friday and Saturday.
Friday, Oct. 11 Results:
- Wheatley vs Furr (W): 27-28
- Westbury (W) vs Spring Woods (W): 52-0
- Galena Park vs Waltrip (W): 27-42
Saturday, Oct. 12 Results:
- Lamar (W) vs Chavez: 79-0
- Houston vs Westside (W): 0-42
- Madison vs Sterling: 20-35
- Worthing (W)vs Washington: 41-0
- Kashmere vs Northside (W): 12-28
- North Forest vs Yates (W): 21-23
In addition to these matches, Milby and Austin faced off Thursday in the HISD Eastside Classic, where Milby secured an outstanding victory. At the end, Milby managed to win the match 54 to 0.
In their X, formerly known as Twitter, the Milby Photography account celebrated the victory.
“Milby is bringing some hardware back home! The Buffs win the Houstonisd Eastside Classic,” the account wrote.
