HISD Offers Free Telehealth Services for All Students Through Hazel Health Partnership

In a move to expand access to healthcare for students, the Houston Independent School District (HISD) now offers telehealth services at no cost to families. This initiative is made possible through a partnership with Hazel Health, a leading provider of school-based telehealth solutions.

Through this program, all HISD students—regardless of income or insurance status—can receive virtual medical care from licensed healthcare providers during the school day or at home. These services include support for minor illnesses, physical health concerns, and mental health needs. Importantly, families do not need to worry about co-pays, fees, or out-of-pocket costs. To access care, families must complete an enrollment form and once signed up, students can be seen by Hazel’s team of pediatric professionals. This service is especially timely as communities continue to face challenges accessing consistent, affordable care.

With telehealth, HISD aims to reduce absenteeism, support families, and improve health outcomes for students across the district.
