Excitement soared at HISD Furr High School last week as new Houston Texans merchandise was dropped from a helicopter into the hands of students at the school.
Thanks to the collaboration between ABC13, SkyEye helicopter, and the Houston Texans, Furr High School’s athletics department received an unforgettable experience. The helicopter descended from the sky, delivering new gear directly into the eager hands of Furr High School’s football and flag football teams.
Texans cheerleaders and the beloved Toro mascot also attended the event.
“I’m no quarterback, but I’ll be able to throw out some new merch out of this chopper and get it into the end zone to make sure we get a lot of touchdowns for these kids,” said Tammy Rose, the helicopter reporter from SkyEye.
The meticulously planned drop was the culmination of efforts to ensure a memorable and safe experience for all involved. Wearing the Texans’ signature blue T-shirts with the alternate “H” logo added a touch of Houston pride to the occasion.
Moments like these highlight the power of collaboration and the impact of bringing moments of happiness and excitement directly to our students’ doorsteps.
At HISD, we cherish these moments of celebration and unity, fostering an environment where every student feels valued and inspired. Thank you to ABC13, Houston Texans, and everyone involved for making this unforgettable experience possible!
