Districtwide Post-Hurricane Assessments Are Ongoing

Houston ISD officials released a statement regarding the district wide facilities damage assessments following Hurricane Beryl, which will continue through June 11.

“HISD, like all of Houston, is impacted by power outages at many of our campuses and support facilities. Most of our summer school campuses are without power, internet, and/or air conditioning,” according to the statement.

However, district officials confirmed that the July 10 hiring event will be held as scheduled.

“Power is being restored at more campuses each day, and the Facilities, Maintenance, and Operations team is working to fully open District buildings as quickly as possible once power is restored. We will provide updates on our plans for Thursday at the end of the day on Wednesday,” the statement continued.
