HISD Announces ESSA Federal Grant Programs For Private Non-Profit Schools

The Houston Independent School District (HISD) is announcing the “Participation Process” for the 2025-2026 school year. This process invites Private Non-Profit (PNP) school administrators to participate in the federal grant programs under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). These federal grants are designed to provide essential resources that support the academic success of students, families, educators, and school personnel across a variety of educational settings.

Administrators from interested Private Non-Profit schools are required to complete and submit the Intent to Participate Form by the deadline of Friday, February 14, 2025. Submitting this form is necessary for participation in the ESSA federal grant programs, which aim to enhance educational opportunities through services such as instructional materials, professional development, parent and family engagement, counseling services, and more.

Timely submission of the forms is necessary to participate in the various ESSA grant programs, which cover critical areas such as basic education programs, effective instruction, student support, and services for English language learners and migrant students. The completion and timely submission of the Intent to Participate Form is a key step in accessing these valuable resources.
