By Houston ISD has two more weekly online information sessions July 30 and Aug. 6 from 2-3 p.m. for substitute teachers before the start of the 2024-25 school year.
Substitute teacher expectations are as follows:
- To be considered for the substitute teacher role, an applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree, however, applicants with a minimum of 48 college hours will be considered.
- Hiring is conditional upon passing all stages and completion of training/orientation.
- Additional employment expectations will be shared during the pre-hiring orientation session.
- Applicants rejected at any stage in the process are ineligible for employment for the school year for which they are applying.
- This position does not provide visa/citizen sponsorship.
