By As the new school year is set to begin Aug. 12, Houston ISD Human Resources Department is reminding new hires that the employment process has multiple steps that must be completed prior to the school year.
All new employees that the must visit the following links to complete their new hire process:
- Pre-hire sessions to finalize your HR paperwork after you complete your New Hire electronic packet in OneSourceMe
- Sign up in the HISD Badge & Network Access system granting new employees secure access to facilities and network systems like email and the employee portal.
- New Employee Orientation
Teachers and other school and department staff including teaching assistants, learning coaches, teacher apprentices must attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) after their start date.

- For other support staff positions
- For substitute teachers
- For transportation employees
- For custodial staff
- For nutrition services
- For police department staff
- For facilities staff
