The HISD Science CPD Team recently showed their support for NASA’s Solar Glass Distribution event at Anderson Elementary. This special event provided students with the opportunity to witness a solar eclipse safely through specially designed solar glasses.
One of the highlights of the event was the chance to meet Megan McArthur, an American oceanographer, engineer, and NASA astronaut who has contributed to numerous space missions. Her presence added an extra layer of excitement and inspiration for the students attending the event.
The HISD Science CPD Team, including members such as the Houston ISD K-12 Math and Science PD, Donelle Williams, Ed.D, Director II, K-12 Math and Science Professional Development at Houston ISD, Seema Ahuja, HISD Curriculum implementation Coach, Isaac Daniels, Teacher Development specialist at Houston ISD, played a crucial role in organizing and supporting this event. Their dedication to providing meaningful and engaging science education opportunities for students is commendable.
Events like these not only spark interest in science but also serve as a reminder of the incredible achievements and discoveries made possible through space exploration. The HISD Science CPD Team’s involvement in this event underscores their commitment to fostering a love for science among students and educators alike.
We look forward to more exciting and educational events from the HISD Science CPD Team in the future!
