By This past weekend, HISD football teams were involved in exciting matchups, standout performances, and fierce rivalries across the district. In addition, this weekend the district saw the highly anticipated Fall Classic between Yates and Wheatley, where Yates triumphed for the third year in a row.
From historic battles to hard-fought victories, these were the weekend results.
Friday, Sept 20 Results:
- Yates (W) vs Wheatley (W): 38-9
- Madison (W) vs Westbury: 6-0
- Galveston Ball (W) vs Westside: 54-17
- Alief Elsik vs Lamar (W): 35-49
- Lamarque (W) vs Houston: 57:0
- Spring Woods vs Waltrip (W): 20-23
Saturday, Sept 21 Results:
- Washington vs Furr (W): 12-46
- Heights (W) vs Alief Taylor: 29-22
- Northside (W) vs Scarborough: 26-0
- North Forest (W) vs Worthing: 35-47
This weekend’s action was filled with intense rivalry games, standout performances, and thrilling finishes. Yates secured an outstanding victory in the Fall Classic, making this the third year in a row that the Lions won over Wheatley.
In other games, Worthing and Lamar secured high-scoring victories. Furr and Northside dominated their matchups with impressive shutouts, while Heights and Waltrip emerged victorious in nail-biting contests.
