Turning Young Learners into Strong Readers—Right from Home

Several Houston Independent School District (HISD) schools are partnering with the Paloma Learning App to help turn young learners into strong readers right from home. This partnership connects families with a tool designed for quick and effective literacy practice, making it easier for students to develop their reading skills outside of the classroom.

For children whose first language is Spanish, HISD now offers Paloma Learning as a solution to support their English language learning. The program helps students learn English as a second language by providing parents with insightful text resources, enabling families to actively participate in their children’s education and language development.

Thanks to this program, children in HISD are now able to read and speak in English more confidently. The combination of family involvement and accessible literacy practice tools through the Paloma Learning App is enhancing the learning experience and helping students build important skills for academic success.
